Position Title: Regional Asset Protection and Risk Manager
Department: Loss Prevention
Reports to: Director of Asset Protection and Risk Management
Status: Exempt
Date: July 2024
Broad Functions:
The Regional Asset Protection and Risk Manager will provide essential reporting and analysis of key performance metrics, investigate and resolve all potential losses and manage all workmen’s compensation and general liability claims in their assigned AOR. The position will work closely with GM’s, Regionals and VP of Operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform Micros Research and Review for exceptions, weekly/monthly reports review
2. Monthly Inventory Review of random locations from each Region/Area for errors or malfeasance and provide guidance and training on use of Excel inventory sheets as necessary
3. Manage the reporting and investigation of all Workmen’s Compensation and General Liability claims
4. Maintain a “Return-to-Work” focus that promotes associate wellbeing and minimizes risks to Areas
5. Lead the monthly safety committee meetings and participate in our Quarterly Claims Reviews
6. Conduct investigations and resolve potential losses quickly and thoroughly
7. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of new programs, pilots and tests
8. Manage the cash handling and shortage reduction efforts within their AOR
9. Conduct weekly and monthly safety walks with findings, recommendations and action plans documented and communicated bi-directionally
10. Maintain Safety Handbook/Guide and Loss Prevention Manual and promote best practices
11. Maintain Safety Culture by ensuring current safety policies and procedures are followed in the assigned AOR. Assist the Director of Asset Protection and Risk Management in creating and or revising safety policies and procedures.
12. Research industry developments/technology/policies that could help reduce the incidence of internal and external theft and fraud
13. Assist in developing policies and procedures as it pertains to public health outbreaks as directed by the Director of Asset Protection and Risk Management. Ensure polices and procedures developed are followed in their assigned AOR. Monitor federal, state and local health guidance as it pertains to an outbreak.
14. Additional responsibilities as directed by the Director of Asset protection and Risk Management
Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Loss Prevention, Asset Protection and Safety experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Good understanding of food and liquor cost control is an advantage
• WZ Interview and interrogation certification is required, CFI Certification is preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with excellent task management, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage and make progress on multiple projects under specific time requirements
• Knowledge of Micros POS and “XBR” exception-based reporting tools preferred
• Advanced knowledge of workmen’s compensation, general liability and food safety standards and requirements is a plus
• Strong experience with MS Office suite “Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint”
• Ability to travel within assigned AOR which may include overnight travel.
